Treatment for Intraventricular Tumor
Intraventricular tumor aims at relieving the pain caused by the obstruction in the cerebrospinal fluid flow. It may include any or combination of the following treatment options:
- Surgical tumor resection to alleviate the pressure and remove the obstruction. Tumor resection can be done by endoscopic procedure as it makes the surgery easier by visualizing the tumor through the inserted camera.
- Chemotherapy is done to kill the cancer cells. It may be given before or after the surgery.
- Stereotactic radiosurgery uses a beam of radiation to target the cancer cells and is done to treat comparatively smaller tumors.
- Radiation therapy
